From a daily wage salesman to an award-winning independent photographer, Jai Thakur takes to stage to tell a story of perseverance. Through his talk, he elaborates on how it is important to take the opportunities that are presented and use them as a chance to explore oneself. He brings about the importance of a good support system and how the environment plays a role in developing an individual. Jai Thakur is an Independent Photographer from India, who has been in the field for over 8 years. He had developed an interest in photography while working as a Junior Artist in the Bollywood movie "Bhag Milkha Bhag". As a day job, he is employed as a Research Analyst, and he practices photography in the available time. His work has been published in multiple books and platforms like HIPA Annual Book, Better Photography, FotoNostrum, Dodho, National Geographic, etc. Best known for his photo essays based on rivers' destruction, struggles faced by acid attack survivors, and complicated relationships, Mr. Thakur's works revolve around people and their socio-economic environment. He is a recipient of the Moscow International Foto Award (2016 & 2021), the Tokyo International Foto Award (2016 & 2021), the Water Heroes Award by the Govt. of India, and many more.
