I flirted with my art teacher and accidentally uncovered a crazy secret about my life

My life used to feel kind of normal, but then one day something happened that shocked me so much that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to come to terms with it…

My mom died when I was a little girl, and that isn’t even the shocking part. Of course, that was really hard, but I was too young to fully understand it. After this, my dad’s sister- my Aunty Carol moved in with us to help take care of me. My dad had always been a workaholic, and after mom passed away, he spent even more time at work. My Aunty came to my rescue and she’s been living with us ever since.

Now that I’m 18 though, I can honestly say I don’t feel close to my dad. My dad barely even knows me, so when I told him I wanted to study art at college, just like mom had, he went crazy! He told me I had to study finance, or I wouldn’t be welcome in his home anymore. I couldn’t believe it!! But I had no choice…he was paying my college fees and all I wanted was to get out of his house and be my own person.

On my first week as a freshman, I spotted a poster for an art class, and I decided to sign up. My dad didn’t need to know, right? And anyway, the class was free.I walked into the class, and when the professor introduced himself as Jeff, I couldn’t stop staring at him. He was like the same age as my dad, but there was something about him that made me interested. Finally, someone who also loved art as much as my mom had, and he encouraged me. I started spending more and more time painting, and less time studying finance. I didn’t care anymore!
