Throwing Muses, the 4AD legends formed by Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly, may be the most underrated college rock / indie rock / alternative rock band of the 1980s / early 90s. Discovering The Real Ramona and its hits Not Too Soon and Counting Backwards has opened the door to an amazing back catalogue of Post Punk and pre Riot Grrrl gems (including the work of Belly, The Breeders and other spin offs from the group). In this video, we celebrate the band's innovative work. Indeed, it could be said that what the Pixies did for dynamics in indie, Throwing Muses did for song structure.
