Insulating our sailing boat for high latitudes

Sorry for those hoping I'd upload an adventurous video but what else can be done during a lockdown winter in the UK! Anyway this winter we engaged on a project to insulate the boat for a future trip to Svarlbard, Greenland and high latitudes in general.

We have a fairly large saloon with large windows so its important to insulate it as much as possible before trying to get the heater working well.

We used 25mm Armaflex closed cell foam initially and then SuperQuilt by in what was the air gap.

We also used a film on the windows to cut out condensation on the small port lights which was very effective.
