Chinese database targeting Taiwanese politicians leaked

Analysis by Doublethink Lab of leaked documents reveals that Chinese technology firm GoLaxy developed an extensive “panoramic map” of Taiwan’s civil society to facilitate cognitive infiltration and domestic division.

The company’s “Taiwan-related knowledge graph” profiles more than 1,000 political figures, including President Lai Ching-te and various opposition leaders, by tracking their social connections and “attitude toward China.”

Utilizing a database of 23 million household records and 6.2 million social media posts, GoLaxy employs AI-generated personas to mimic local linguistic styles across Taiwanese Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English.

By categorizing individuals into groups like “hardline,” “friendly,” “swing,” and “objective,” the firm uses realistic scripts and simulated identities to manipulate public perception and aggravate existing political tensions.
