How to Sew a Continuous Placket

This week I'm sharing a tutorial showing how to sew a continuous placket - a neckband and placket that is visible on the right side of the garment, finishes the neckline then overlaps to provide the placket for the buttons and buttonholes. These can be quite counter-intuitive construction wise and I incorrectly constructed one on a Burda pattern years ago and had people asking how to do them so I thought it would be useful to explain and demystify them, it was a real eureka moment for me when I worked it out so I wanted to share it. I used McCalls 8041, a gorgeous contemporary blouse pattern I've made before and loved so much I've made it again, but you will find this design feature on lots of other sewing patterns too so it is a useful technique to learn.
