These are just a couple of colorful mounds near Hanksville Utah. Pretty easy access right off the highway. I went for sunrise and got here around
7:30 am for these shots. It's a short drive from Capital Reef National park (which the scenic route is closed for renovation until about Fall 2024). This is something super cool to see if your plans fell through for Capital Reef.
The morning I filmed these shots, I could not believe how absolutely quiet it was. I stood there in silence for a minute without hearing a single bug, bird, car, wind, etc. Just a couple pops from my cars hot exhaust. I visited these mounds on July 7, 2024.
