Default VLAN and Native VLAN
default VLAN:
We cannot change the default VLAN. We cannot even delete the default VLAN. It is the default setting. It is VLAN 1.
The default VLAN is only relevant to an access port
VLAN 1 is never intended to be used as a standard VLAN to carry network data.
Native VLAN:
The Native VLAN is simply the one VLAN which traverses a Trunk port without a VLAN tag.
The default Native VLAN is VLAN 1, but it is recommended to configure the native VLAN to different numbers other than 1.
Native VLAN is configurable on the Trunk point, not on any access port.
The native VLAN should be the same on both ends of the trunk. If both sides of the trunk do not agree on the Native VLAN, the trunk will not operate properly.
