Harwich naar Hoek van Holland, Stoomvaart Maatschappij Zeeland, SMZ rond 1955

A train and boat trip from London via Harwich to Hook of Holland with the Prinses Beatrix ferry of the Stoomvaart Maatschappij Zeeland (SMZ), in the 1950's.
The SMZ has operated on the ferry route between The Netherlands and the United Kingdom between 1875 en 1989. Until 1939 the ferries departed from Flushing (Vlissingen) in the province of Zeeland.
After WW-II operations moved to Hook of Holland. Since 1952 SMZ cooperated with Sealink (a cooperation with British rail). In 1989 Stena Line bought all SMZ's shares and until today operates under the name of "Stena Line BV".
