Off Air with Amy: SC Primary History & New Murdaugh Judge

South Carolina's primary elections just reshaped the political map, and this episode breaks it all down. Jermaine Johnson won the Democratic nomination for governor, and the Republican side is headed to a runoff between Pamela Evette and Alan Wilson. Courtney McClain made history as the first Black woman to win the Democratic nomination for South Carolina's 4th Congressional District.

And the Alex Murdaugh case takes a new turn. The South Carolina Supreme Court hand-selected Judge Debra McCaslin to oversee the upcoming trial, and there's talk of a possible change of venue. Erin Bailey of Erin Bailey Law, a Charleston area attorney who once ran for the same circuit judge seat as McCaslin, joins Amy to talk about the judge's background and what her appointment could mean for the case.
