Supporting women in rugby league, here is an aspiring rugby league player Leila Kerowa who has represented PNG on the highest level of rugby league and for her it all started at her home town in Hagen. Playing with her peers she found her strength and confidence, pushing her to go further was her father who had hopes that her daughter would make it into the big leagues, when he told her stories of how women too can represent PNG through rugby league.
She is now participating in the Santos Cup 2025, playing for the Central Dabaris.
