Quiet Walk in Tarkhovka 🌿 | A Place of Memory (No Talking)
A quiet and respectful walk at Tarkhovskoye Cemetery — a small memorial necropolis located in the resort district of Saint Petersburg.
The site is within walking distance (about 500–600 meters) from the Tarkhovka railway platform.
This place was established during World War II near a military hospital that once operated in the Avenarius estate.
More than 2,300 people are buried here, including soldiers who died from wounds and civilians who perished during the blockade period.
There is also a special burial site for defenders of the Hanko Peninsula and children from a wartime orphanage.
This video is a calm walk through a place of memory — quiet, reflective, and respectful.
🚆 How to get there:
• Train from Finland Station to Tarkhovka
• Bus 211 or 216 from Begovaya metro
• Driving route on my channel: @WarmRoute

The defense of Hanko
The defense of Hanko is the defense of the Soviet naval base of Hanko during the Great Patriotic War, an integral part of the Second World War. It was fought for 164 days, from June 22 to December 2, 1941.
On June 22, 1941, after Germany launched the Barbarossa plan, the German Air Force and naval forces attacked the Soviet naval base on the Hanko Peninsula, which was defended by combat units of the Red Army. After the beginning of the Soviet-Finnish war on June 25, 1941, Finnish troops joined the fighting against the Red Army.
The Defenders of the Hanko Peninsula are the garrison of the Soviet naval base, which heroically defended this outpost in southern Finland from June 22 to December 2, 1941. Under the conditions of the blockade, under the leadership of Lieutenant General S.I. Kabanov, about 25-30 thousand people (Marines, aviation, coastal artillery) held back the superior forces of the enemy, becoming an example of perseverance and undefeated.
Basic facts about defense:
Meaning: The base on Hanko blocked the exit from the Gulf of Finland, interfering with the actions of the German-Finnish fleet.
Resilience: The enemy planned to take the base in a few days, but the defenders held out for more than 5 months.
Evacuation: In early December 1941, the defenders were evacuated to Leningrad by order of the command to strengthen the defense of the city.
