Knocked Off By Chinese Supplier - What I Learned

When I launched Scorch Marker in 2018, I bought every empty marker I could find.

Tested them all and found the one that works.

Then I contacted the company that manufactured those markers.

And they agreed to ship me empty markers - until they saw I was ordering 30,000 at a time.

That’s when they decided to knock me off.

They launched their own version of our Scorch Marker, copied everything, and even filed a trademark for my brand in china.

I had no idea what to do.

I hired the most expensive attorney I could find in Southern California.

With her help, I sorted everything out.

Without her I’d have been done.

That was my first real intro to intellectual property.
