The store's professional setup deceived numerous customers into purchasing counterfeit products. Notably, the official Rhode Skin channels had not announced any South African launch, raising suspicions. Influencers like Mi'chal Naidoo contacted Rhode Skin directly and confirmed the store's illegitimacy. Within 24 hours, the pop-up vanished without a trace, leaving defrauded customers in its wake. The company behind this scam, Beautessa SA, also disappeared, deleting their online presence. This incident underscores the importance of verifying the authenticity of retailers before making purchases.
