“I’m sleepy” in Japanese 🇯🇵 2 Ways #shorts

眠い {ねむい | nemui} and 眠たい {ねむたい | nemutai} is translated to “I’m sleepy.” But there’s a slight nuance difference as explained in the video.

While 眠い {ねむい | nemui} simply expresses that you’re sleepy, 眠たい {ねむたい | nemutai} expresses that you’re bothered by your sleepy head 😅

For instance, in the video, Sayaka has to finish writing a report but she’s so sleepy and that bothers her.

Same thing happens to
重い {おもい | omoi} and 重たい {おもたい | omotai}🤓
