Lake Moultrie is part of the historic Santee Cooper Lakes, covering nearly 60,000 acres with deep water, cypress trees, and famous fishing grounds. Located just inland from Charleston, SC and the Atlantic Ocean, this lake connects to Lake Marion through the Pinopolis Dam and the Santee Cooper locks. Built in the 1940s, it’s one of the largest man-made lakes in the U.S., home to world-record catfish, trophy bass, crappie, shellcrackers, and bream.
