Resident Evil and Silent Hill are the default survival horror series to most, but Alone in the Dark is finally getting its flowers. But one franchise only the devoted survival horror fanbase knows about is Human Entertainment's Clock Tower, the point and click adventure that prototyped the stalker horror of games like Outlast, Amnesia: The Bunker, Dead by Daylight, and Alien: Isolation.

While Rex from 3D Monster Maze can rightfully lay claim to being either the first or the first good stalker horror creature, Scissorman is the OG, the prototype that Resident Evil would look when making Mr. X in Resident Evil and Nemesis in Resident Evil 3. But despite getting three sequels, Clock Tower's stock has kept dropping in the gaming world. It IS an odd duck, playing differently than any game of its era and lacking any combat, so is it just an acquired taste or is it secretly one of the most overlooked game franchises ever created?
