2023 Atlantic Salmon 50p is officially the UK's rarest coin in circulation, with a mintage of just 200,000. Released to mark King Charles III's reign, this rare coin frequently sells on the secondary market for approximately £65 to £80+, making it highly sought after by collectors.
Mintage and Rarity Details

Circulation Mintage: 200,000.
Status: The 2023 Atlantic Salmon 50p is currently the rarest 50p in circulation, having replaced the 2009 Kew Gardens 50p.
Design: Features an Atlantic salmon on the reverse and King Charles III on the obverse.
Distinction: The circulating version does not have a privy mark. A version with a Tudor Crown privy mark was sold in brilliant uncirculated (BU) packs.

Value

Circulated Coin: A circulated, used coin is often valued at around £65, though top-condition coins can fetch over £80 in online auctions.
BU Pack (Privy Mark): The "Crown Privy Mark" BU version generally sells for around £20-£25.
