saxophone mouthpieces that were never meant to be played

I met up with Don Menza to hear the story of the legendary Selmer FF, the mouthpiece that Charlie "Bird" Parker played on Bird with Strings. Same model, not the exact mouthpiece, but a very rare one. With only 100 altos and 100 tenors made and most being a failure due to customs, it was great to see Don play this mouthpiece. I happened to find a great player nearby who bought one of Don's FF's, so when I'm feeling better I'll see if we can review it in person.

Filmed at NAMM 2020 in January in Anaheim.
