How to Buy Cars for Free
How do you buy a car for free, and I'm not just talking about honda or a Toyota, I'm talking luxury vehicles. Like Mercedes, Lexus, BMW, and even a Lamborghini.
And that’s why in this video, I’m going to break down the entire process of how you can either buy a car for free to enjoy it or buy and flip and make some cash.
How to Buy Cars for Free
Basic Idea:
You're buying a used car that won't depreciate as much and then selling for a break-even thus, you get drive it for free for 1-2 years.
How does it work: breakdown: What to buy and how to buy, When to sell and how to sell, and lastly how to finance.
1. What to buy and how to buy ( low volume, so less depreciation)
What to buy
Tip: Look for low volume car ( that way theirs more demand)
But remember these buyers: these buyers are discriminant, the car about colors, and options. ( plus the demographic is usually not young, they are usually older).
Color: no Pink, or purple: buy cars that the average person looking to buy will be interested in.
However, for exotic cars, you want colors that pop but not too much. White exterior and dark interior
Tip: Usually buy with 1-2 owner, and no crashes, and check out the history reports.
- Cars that have been driven, but not heavily. Because if it's been sitting, it could lead to problems.
How to Buy: check out preowned catalogs
Sources: eBay, Cars.com, CarGuru, Craiglist and auto trades
And also a major dealership can work. ( negotiate near the market)
Tip: Join Forums about cars, that way you know little tips and tricks when it comes to buying. ( check Reddit)
2nd Tip: By looking at forums and retailers, you can get a sense of the mark up for the dealer.
3rd Tip: Remember to inspect the cars by a professional. ( PPI ) Pre-purchase car inspection ( don’t just trust the dealer)
Example: Exotic cars have a bit costly if you don’t inspect it, it could cost you 10k-20k.
4th Tip: Negotiation is going to come down to how much you know about the industry and what your buying the more you know, the better you'll be off.
Example: A dealer usually lowers the prices at 15,30 and 45-60 day mark. So you want to negotiate during these times.
- Also, show cash in hand to buy today.
( entire idea, the dealer can make money, but not much)
2. How to sell (behave like a dealer)
Tip: Cars take time to sell, so start posting before your ready and that way you’ll have a list of people that are interested. ( and take everyone seriously and treat them with respect)
Tip2: take great pictures, with plenty of details.
3 ways: Privately, trade-in and consignment
Step1: Create an Ad ( have all the details and great pictures) Private Sale
- Text or Call
- Condition of the car
- Clear Price
- Car History
- Contact info ( remember to be responsive)
- Great pictures
- Banking info: being finance by who
: eBay, everywhere really: the same places where you bought it.
- Trade it ( if it makes sense) with a dealer
- Consignment: you can leave the car at the dealer and the dealer will handle the sale and just charge you a fee.
Tip: be careful for scams
Tip: Give them an Official Bill of Sale that matches your title exchange
When to sell
List it: within one month of buying it
3. Financing ( under 3%-5% is solid) ( credit is Key)
Basic Idea: yes you want to finance the vehicle, at the lower rate possible and also with the least amount of money down,
and as long as you can.
Why:
- No need to use your money when you can use someone else.
- No big down payment, so keep your liquidity
- The longer the better so your cash flow is not impacted.
Ps: remember you can always refinance if you want to
Examples: ( luxury cars)
Credit unions are usually cheaper and sometimes offer 84 months
- Sometimes it takes 24-48 hours to get your loan
- So just leave a deposit so they know you're serious
Exotic Cars: a little more tricky
Terms are much longer up to 144 months and usually, interest is higher is sometimes 8%.
Btw: most of the time, they require a deposit of 10-25%.
Tip: you can have dealers run your credit for 14 days without being ding over and over again.
