What does a single red card actually cost? Not in minutes — in money.

At the 2026 World Cup, FIFA pays out a record prize pot, and it doesn't pay evenly: every round survived is worth millions more than the last. So when a player loses his head and gets sent off, the bill doesn't stop at one suspension.
