The Cadillac CT5-V is the replacement for the CTS sedan., it isn't the replacement for the CTS-V. This new CT5-V is kind of like the S models from Audi, a mid-grade higher performance model. The top high-performance model to replace the old CTS-V will be called Blackwing. So this CT5-V competes with the Audi S4, the Mercedes AMG C43 or BMW M340i. With 360hp, this car is middle of the pack but leads the competition with 405lb.-ft. of torque. The CT5-V is sold with RWD or AWD for $2000 more. The CT5-V comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission, magnetic ride control, an electronically controlled rear differential and standard Brembo brakes. This CT5-V starts at roughy $50,000 in the Canadian market and offers a lot of value for the performance sedan buyer. The interior is fitted with a new 10-inch infotainment screen that has hard-dials and switches making it much easier to use. The instrument cluster is not a fully digital unit like many competitors. Rear legroom is improved over the CTS it replaces. The CT5-V has a wonderful sound and is a fantastic car to drive and should be tried by those looking at the German competition.
