NASA’s X-59 Just Hit a Major Milestone! ✈️ Supersonic Flight Tests Reach New Heights

NASA's revolutionary X-59 quiet supersonic aircraft has successfully completed its first Block 1 envelope expansion flight tests, marking a major step toward the future of faster and quieter air travel. During testing, the aircraft achieved its first landing gear retraction flight, climbed to 43,000 feet, reached speeds of Mach 0.95 (about 627 mph), and completed its first dual-flight day. These achievements bring NASA closer to demonstrating low-boom supersonic flight as part of the Quesst mission, which aims to make commercial supersonic travel over land possible once again.
