Mario Lanza - Tell Me That You Love Me Tonight + Parlami d'Amore

Mario Lanza’s beautiful voice is accompanied by the very lovely paintings by Cesare-Auguste Detti (Italian 1847 – 1914) and by the wonderful ice skating of Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov.
“Tell Me That You Love Me Tonight” was written by composer Al Stillman (1906 – 1979) after the song “Parlami D’Amore Mariu” by composer Cesare Andrea Bixio (1896 – 1978) and by lyricist Ennio Neri

His hits included Vivere, Mamma, Parlami d'amore, Mariù, La mia canzone al vento, and many others. The lyricist for many of his hits was Bixio Cherubini. “As Detti defined his own aesthetic direction during the 1860s and 70s, he focused more and more on costumed genre painting that clearly owes a debt to Pinelli’s engravings as well as Fortuny’s meticulous realism…. Detti himself was appointed as vice-president of the Italian committee for the spectacular Paris fair in 1889 at which the Eiffel Tower made its debut; that year he also won a bronze medal for painting. At the next grand Exposition universelle in Paris (1900), Detti would win a silver medal for his painting of La Tricheur (The Cheat).” (Above information is from: http://www.tuttartpitturasculturapoesiamusica.com/2014/08/Cesare-Augusto-Detti.html)
