The Buffalo Soldiers’ Standoff at Rattlesnake Springs (1880) – Forgotten Frontier Clash

In the summer of 1880, Black cavalry troops of the 10th U.S. Cavalry—known as the Buffalo Soldiers—faced down Apache warriors in a tense desert standoff at Rattlesnake Springs, Texas. Outnumbered and surrounded by hostile ground, these men held the line against fierce resistance in a clash little remembered in frontier history.

This is the story of courage, survival, and the untold role of the Buffalo Soldiers in the old West.
