Joanna Calo is a writer and mother who lives in Ojai, CA. She is currently a Co-Executive Producer on “Hacks” for HBO Max, but her past writing credits include Showtime’s “The Auteur”, “The Babysitter’s Club” on Netflix, Amazon’s “Undone”, six seasons on the critically acclaimed “Bojack Horseman”, and countless other less exciting things. She was nominated for a WGA award for her Bojack Horseman episode “Ruthie”, about a Hollywood agent/cat with infertility issues, and the lies we tell ourselves. She did not win this award. Joanna is currently in development on a female-focused television show about romance and feminism for FX as well as an animated show about the ocean for Apple. Every project she embarks on has the same pretentious goal: to connect humans and to make them feel somewhat better about existence.
Caroline Williams has written on such shows as THE OFFICE (individual WGA nominee), MODERN FAMILY (WGA Award), BOJACK HORSEMAN and others, including UP ALL NIGHT, produced by Lorne Michaels, and Netflix series ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and MANIAC starring Jonah Hill & Emma Stone. Prior to joining these shows and others, her original pilot, MISS/GUIDED, aired on ABC starring Judy Greer and Chris Parnell. As a director, Ms. Williams’ experimental short, LOVELY, screened at festivals around the country and she is currently in the process of setting up her feature directorial debut with independent producer Anne Carey (DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL, CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME). In 2019-20, she shadowed directors on THE CONNERS (ABC), STUMPTOWN (ABC) and THE GOOD PLACE (NBC). Ms. Williams was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Chicago, Portland and Southern California. She holds a BA in playwriting from USC and an MFA in film from UCLA where she was awarded the George Burns and Gracie Allen Comedy Fellowship as well as the Hunter/Zakin Chair in screenwriting. As an undergrad, her first play premiered at the Humana Festival of New American Plays. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Oscar nominated filmmaker Drew Goddard, and their three children.
