India Today Exclusive | Lebanon's War Not Its Choice, Hezbollah Acted Alone, Says Hadi Jaber

In an exclusive interview with India Today, the Lebanese Ambassador to India revealed that Lebanon was dragged into the ongoing war without the government's approval. The Ambassador stated that Hezbollah launched rockets against Israel on 2nd March without informing or seeking the consent of the Lebanese government. He emphasised that no war is good and that Lebanon did not choose to enter this conflict. The war has resulted in 912 martyrs, over 2,200 injuries, and more than one million displaced Lebanese citizens. Entire villages in southern Lebanon have been destroyed. The Ambassador clarified that while Hezbollah played a crucial role in liberating southern Lebanon until 2000, it has since maintained an independent entity separate from the government. He condemned both Iranian actions and Israeli aggression, stating that Lebanon is suffering the most despite not wanting involvement in what he described as a war between Iran, Israel and America.
