Fabric sampling...

Why is sampling a good idea before you make a bigger piece? Well, firstly it's fun! And it can help get you going when you're feeling stuck, and bring inspiration when you don't quite know what it is you want to create. Play with your fabrics, try out ideas, work out methods and compositions, 'try before you buy'! Why not make a collection of your trial pieces in a book and create a lovely reference for when you can't think what to make, or how to make it. Also a good excuse for playing and exploring... especially when you have an embellisher!
