The Real Money Isn't in Reselling

HubSpot publishes the $5.80 number. For every dollar of HubSpot software sold, partners earn $5.80 in surrounding revenue. ServiceNow, Workday, and NetSuite are all running similar economics now.

Most partners read that and think "resell." That's the smallest slice.

The actual money is in consulting, design, implementation, and integration. A partner chasing services dollars looks completely different from a partner chasing market development funds in an SPF. Same vendor. Same logo on the website. Different businesses entirely.

The mistake is treating professional services partners as one category. There's always nuance, and the partners winning are the ones building services-first.
