We spent the weekend in Kernville, California exploring everything this beautiful small town has to offer during the 50th Annual Kern River Valley Car Show. This classic car show in Kernville, CA brings in people from all over California who love vintage cars, hot rods, and a true old-school community vibe. The event takes place right in the heart of downtown Kernville, surrounded by the stunning Sierra Nevada mountains and the scenic Kern River.

In this video, we walk through the Kern River Valley Car Show, check out hundreds of classic cars, and meet some of the owners who’ve been part of this event for decades. The 50th anniversary made this year’s show even more special, with incredible custom builds, restored classics, and a mix of American muscle, trucks, and vintage cruisers lining the streets. We also spent time exploring downtown Kernville, visiting local shops, grabbing coffee, and enjoying a great meal at Kern River Brewing Company.

Kernville, CA is one of those hidden gems that perfectly blends small-town charm, history, and outdoor adventure. It’s located right along the Kern River and is known for whitewater rafting, camping, fishing, and mountain scenery. Whether you’re visiting for the car show or just looking for a relaxing weekend getaway in the Sierra Nevada, Kernville has something for everyone. We loved walking the riverfront, exploring the park, and talking with locals about the area’s history and connection to car culture.

For RV travelers like us, Kernville is also a great stop for boondocking, camping, or staying at one of the local RV parks near Lake Isabella. It’s close enough to Los Angeles and Bakersfield for an easy weekend trip, but it feels a world away once you’re surrounded by pine trees and mountain air. The Kern River Valley Car Show made the perfect reason to come experience this amazing area, and we’ll definitely be back.
