Nautapa heatwave scorches Bikaner at 46°C, residents struggle as streets empty out

Bikaner is reeling under intense Nautapa heat as temperatures touched 46 degrees Celsius, leaving roads and markets nearly deserted. Residents are covering their faces and limiting outdoor movement while battling extreme heat conditions. Authorities have set up special heatwave wards in hospitals and arranged drinking water facilities across the city. The reopening of the Indira Gandhi Canal has also restored normal water supply. Meanwhile, the weather office has forecast slight relief with possible thunderstorms and rainfall activity in the coming days.
