Another Thursday with subtitles in this Free Walking Tour of Naples. Don't worry, I'll post another video with talking on Monday. I'm trying an experiment and since Naples has so much amazing history and architecture, I thought it would make a great walk for subtitles. Naples is the third biggest city in Italy and it feels like it. It's also one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in Europe and it feels like that too. The closed in streets of the Old Center contrast with the Piazza del Plebiscito (a second Naples walk). The narrow streets are filled with energy and people busily going about their business as well as my fellow tourists trying to soak up the grandeur. While it has a reputation for crime and poverty, I felt safe from violence and en guard for pickpockets. That said, by the end of the day, I felt much more confident and secure. It's a pretty amazing city with lots of alleys and nooks and crannies to explore.
