Do We Still Need Feminism? | Phillip Blond, Joanna Williams, Elif Sarican
Is equality a mistaken goal? Should men or women sometimes be unequal? Director of the ResPublica think tank, Phillip Blond, author of Women vs. Feminism, Joanna Williams, and Kurdish women's activist Elif Sarican, debate whether we still need feminism today.

The Patriarchy has become a powerful feminist watchword for the unequal division of power between men and women. In some fields, though, the tables have turned, with women a third more likey to go to university, three quarters of teachers being women, and the courts predominantly giving women custody of children. Should we be demanding equality for men in these areas? Or are the arenas where equality is a mistaken goal and women should have the upper hand?

Joanna Williams: Dr Joanna Williams is Head of Education and Culture at Policy Exchange. She is an author, commentator and the associate editor of Spiked. Phillip Blond: Phillip is an internationally recognised political thinker, social and economic commentator and director of ResPublica. Prior to entering politics and public policy, he was a senior lecturer in theology and philosophy, teaching at the Universities of Exeter and Cumbria.
