Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology: The Inferiority and Superiority Complex

Alfred Adler and his Individual Psychology deserve a lot more recognition in the field of psychology and in general. Often overshadowed in popular culture by Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung, his ideas and psychotherapeutical approach are today one of the best known. After splitting from Freud and Jung in 1911 he created the Society of Individual Psychology in 1912. We are going to talk about teleology, the study of the purpose of a given phenomenon, and about the most famous concepts coined by Alfred Adler: The Inferiority and Superiority Complex. We all strive for some kind of superiority in our life and the motor and motivator to achieve those goals is the perceived feeling of inferiority when comparing to others.
