How To Restore Rubber Boots With Stormsure | Easy Restoration Process

It’s really annoying when your favourite boots start to deteriorate.
This video shows you how to restore your boots to keep them going for another decade!
The boots repaired in this video are still being used today without any more repairs.

Here is a pair of old Le Chameau leather lined rubber boots being restored. They were heavily perished with cracking rubber all over, leaving them at risk of leaks. The finished result may not be pretty but the boots are fully waterproof again and will last a long while before new cracks or leaks form. Here are the steps which were taken to extend the life of the boots and make them waterproof again:

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Sanding down the boots.
2) Remove the remains of previous repairs or other loose materials.
3) Coat the entire exterior of the boots with Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive (two 90g tubes were required in this case).
4)Pay attention to details such as straps and particularly worn areas.
5) Allow the adhesive to cure overnight.

TIPS & NOTES:
1) Don't add too much glue - it appears thick but will create runs and drips when curing if too much is applied.
2) Allow to cure in a fairly warm temperature of approximately 15ºC as this will provide the best finish (we made the mistake of curing the shoes outside in the cold and so they don't look as good as they could).
