Radical African Feminist Movement Building

On Thursday, August 13th, 2020, Black Women Radicals hosted the event on "Radical African Feminist Movement Building." Our host for the event included Nana Afua Yeboaa Brantuo with panelists including Jessica Horn, Kinna Likimani, Rosebell Kagumire, Blessol Gathoni, and Dr. Wunpini Mohammed.

“On Radical African Feminist Movement Building” centers the leadership, lives, and legacies of radical African women and gender non-conforming and non-binary activists. The African Feminist Radical Tradition is and should be central to our understandings of the larger radical/Afro-Diasporic political project. African Women and Gender Non-Conforming and Non-Binary Radicals are here and always have been. How can their strategies, organizing, and leadership further deepen and expand our African/African/Black Diasporic feminist frame of reference? In moving beyond borders and boundaries, how can radical African feminist thought and behavior inform us of the future of collective African/Black feminist resistances and movement building?

This event was a part of our Black Feminist Political Education series for Black August.
