The Same Old You - Tom Petty & HBs live 1982 (audio of only live performance)

Like 'She's the One' (1996) after it, ''Long After Dark' (1982) has quite a few songs that were reportedly only played in concert once. An alternate performance of "Finding Out" has surfaced from the French television show Houba Houba, but it apparently was never played in concert. I posted the audio of the album's closer, "A Wasted Life," on this channel a few months ago, and now I'm uploading the audio of the only live performance of "The Same Old You," which was played in Coventry, England exactly a week after "A Wasted Life" was played in France.
This audience-recorded version of the song is not of the best quality and is pretty sparse. The sound is so muffled that you barely hear the drums and bass, though you can hear the cowbell on the downbeats. Front and center, however, is TP's voice and rhythm guitar.
Hopefully a better recording of this rare performance of the song emerges someday. In the meantime, enjoy!
