🤖 Astrobee: NASA’s Free-Flying ISS Robot#shorts#engineering
NASA’s Astrobee is a free-flying robot designed to assist astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Made of three cube-shaped modules — Honey, Bumble, and Queen — Astrobee can float autonomously using 12 directional nozzles to maneuver inside the station.
Equipped with cameras, sensors, and a perching arm, it can stabilize itself, move cargo, monitor experiments, and assist astronauts in multiple tasks. Astrobee can operate independently or be remotely controlled by astronauts or ground researchers, making it a crucial tool for testing advanced robotics technologies in microgravity.
Astrobee also serves an educational purpose. In Zero Robotics, students program Astrobee to navigate microgravity environments, teaching them practical robotics and coding skills.
This video shows Astrobee’s incredible capabilities: floating, working, and assisting in space. Its autonomous flight, precision, and flexibility make it one of the most unique space robots ever built.
