How to Use Dulera Inhaler | Step-by-Step Technique (Mometasone Formoterol HFA) | Silent Series

📌Dulera® (mometasone furoate / formoterol fumarate dihydrate) is a maintenance inhaler. This Silent Inhaler Series is dedicated to my late father. No talking. No distractions. Just pure technique so you can learn and apply it daily.

You are not just watching. You are doing something about it in silence.

This is an HFA / MDI inhaler. If you master this, you can apply it to similar devices.

✅Bonus Tips (Read This First):

1. Rinse and gargle after each use. Keep it next to your toothbrush so you never forget.
2. Hold your breath for 10 seconds after inhaling. That is how the medication settles in your lungs.
3. Prime before first use or if unused for 1–2 days. Shake first, then spray to ensure it is working. Shaking wakes it up. Priming jumpstarts it.

🔴🔴🔴Core Teaching:
Technique + Schedule + Consistency = Maximum Effect

This is a maintenance inhaler. Not optional. Not a rescue inhaler.
Most are used twice daily on a fixed schedule. Do not skip doses unless directed.

It compounds over time.
Give it at least 7 to 10 days of consistent use to feel the full effect at your current dose. Dose may vary, so always confirm with your provider.

If you are doing everything correctly and still not improving, your dose or regimen may need adjustment. Follow up.

Step by Step Directions (mometasone furoate / formoterol fumarate dihydrate Dulera HFA / MDI):

1. Remove cap and check mouthpiece
2. Shake inhaler well
3. Prime if new or unused
4. Exhale fully away from device
5. Seal lips around mouthpiece
6. Start slow deep inhale and press canister once
7. Continue slow deep breath in
8. Hold breath for ~10 seconds
9. Exhale slowly
10. Wait ~30–60 seconds if second puff prescribed
11. Repeat if needed
12. Rinse and gargle with water

Spacer can be used if technique is difficult.

⚠️Important Reminder:
Frequent need for a rescue inhaler is a red flag.
It may mean poor control, incorrect technique, or need for escalation. Do not ignore it.
