The NCPI—or 'Nationalist Citizens Party of India'—is now set to become the fifth-largest party in the Lok Sabha. In a surprising turn of events, 20 rebel MPs from the Trinamool Congress informed Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla that their group has merged with the NCPI. The party is registered in Howrah, West Bengal, and had contested a few seats in the 2023 Tripura Assembly elections. The rebel MPs stated that they would support the NCPI and the BJP-led NDA.

NCPI यानी 'नेशनलिस्ट सिटिज़न्स पार्टी ऑफ इंडिया' अब लोकसभा की पांचवीं सबसे बड़ी पार्टी बनने जा रही है। एक चौंकाने वाली घटनाक्रम में, तृणमूल कांग्रेस के 20 बागी सांसदों ने लोकसभा स्पीकर ओम बिरला को सूचित किया कि उनके समूह का विलय NCPI के साथ हो गया है। ये पश्चिम बंगाल के हावड़ा में रजिस्टर्ड है और जिसने 2023 के त्रिपुरा विधानसभा चुनावों में कुछ सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ा था। बागी सांसदों ने कहा कि वे NCPI और BJP के नेतृत्व वाले NDA का समर्थन करेंगे।
