FRI is one of the oldest forest research institutes in India.It was established in 1906 British era.

🏛️ The iconic Greco-Roman style building was completed in 1929 and looks more like a royal palace than a research institute.
🎬 Many Bollywood movies and music videos have been shot here because of its cinematic corridors and lush campus. Films like Student of the Year, Krishna Cottage, and parts of Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein used FRI locations.
🌿 The campus spreads over around 450 hectares, making it one of the largest institutional campuses in India. Walking there feels like entering a “tree kingdom with Wi-Fi.” 🍃
📚 FRI is also a deemed university and trains students in forestry, environment, and wood science.
