‘Torrent of rumours’ surrounding Daniel Andrews’ sick leave

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says there’s been a “torrent” of amazing rumours surrounding the extended period of sick leave being taken by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews following his fall.

“Not helped by Andrews saying so little,” Mr Bolt said.

“Yesterday the Victorian Liberals finally bit, finally joined in stirring up the rumour mill, almost like they actually knew something.”

Ambulance Victoria has now released a detailed statement in response to questions raised about Daniel Andrews after Victorian Shadow Treasurer Louise Staley demanded the premier provide more information about his injuries.

Mr Bolt spoke with News Corp National Weekend Political Editor James Campbell about the issue.

“Sadly, people in Victoria have got a lot of time on their hands at the moment to muse on things like this,” Mr Campbell said.

“People have got used to watching Andrews during lockdowns one, two and three … and he’s sort of become a large paramount leader in a sort of soviet-style.

“It was unsurprising really that when the leader disappeared suddenly, we would all begin to speculate as to what had become of him.”
