🚨 Tragic Accident in Mandi Gobindgarh Claims Lives of Two Brothers | Punjab News 🚨

A heartbreaking road accident has claimed the lives of two brothers on the flyover near Channan Ram Petrol Pump in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. According to reports, a small goods vehicle (tempo) carrying a water tank was travelling from Sirhind when it suddenly broke down on the flyover.

The driver contacted his brother in Village Rampur and asked him to bring a battery. A short while later, his brother arrived in a car carrying the battery, and both men began trying to restart the vehicle. During this time, an unidentified speeding vehicle coming from the Sirhind side allegedly rammed into them with tremendous force.

The impact was so severe that both brothers were thrown nearly 40 feet off the flyover. They suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Jagjit Singh and Harjit Singh, sons of Avtar Singh, residents of Village Rampur, Tehsil Payal, under Doraha police station limits.

In a tragic twist of fate, family members revealed that Harjit Singh's family lives in Canada and he was scheduled to travel there on June 26. Sadly, the fatal accident occurred just days before his planned departure.

Investigating Officer Tilak Raj stated that police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident and are working to identify the unknown vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash. The bodies have been sent to the local Civil Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

This tragic incident has once again raised serious concerns about road safety, reckless driving, and hit-and-run accidents on Punjab's highways and flyovers.
