Fool's Gold Loaf sandwich to celebrate Elvis Presley's 80th birthday at Nick's Cafe

GOLDEN, Colo. - For millions of music fans, Elvis Presley is their favorite entertainer.

But for restaurant owner Nick Andurlakis, The King of Rock and Roll, was his all-time favorite customer and friend.

"I got to spend some time with him while he was alive and I wish he was still alive. He was a great man," said Andurlakis.

Andurlakis was 16-years-old, working as a cook at the Colorado Mine Company when he fixed his first "Fool's Gold" loaf sandwich for Elvis.

"A pound of peanut butter, pound of jelly, blueberry preserves and pound of bacon on a one-pound sour dough loaf," says Andurlakis.
