I recently removed my TriMetric battery monitor (from Bogart Engineering) that I've been using for years and installed a the new SIMARINE PICO Smart Monitoring system.

Compared to the popular TriMetric and Victron BMV 712 battery monitoring systems, the PICO gets my vote as the best battery monitoring system available in 2018. I have installed it in my RV and am now monitoring several systems from the PICO display unit.

The PICO is not just a battery monitor. The modular and fully programmable PICO system includes several monitoring modules that can be fully programmed and customized to monitor several systems from one display.

There are modules for:

- Deep Cycle Battery monitoring
- Storage, fuel and waste water tank level monitoring
- DC voltage monitoring
- DC current monitoring of multiple DC sources or circuits...even solar panels or wind turbines

It even includes a very nice barometer display.

I received SIMARINE PICO Blue system and installed the main shunt module, tank module, and quad shunt module in the RV. I've been using it and tweaking the settings in order to get my tank levels dialed in. I really like it. As I'm writing this we are out dry camping and I'm testing the unit.

- While on WiFi to PICO, the mobile device can't use other mobile data services
- WiFi range is not that good
- Would like an option to program main screen (add one or two monitors)

Overall I really love the PICO system and have been enjoying using it. My wife also likes it, since the information and graphical gauges make a lot sense to her. Basic current, voltage and percentage numerical data on the other battery monitor displays never really meant much to her. Plus the devices are not pleasing to look at.
