The History of the Gulag (1929 – 1953) – The Soviet Labor Camps Under Joseph Stalin

The Gulag is the name for the network of Soviet labor camps that were located in the remote areas of the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin. I am on location at Perm-36 near the Central Russian city of Perm and this place is the only former Gulag camp that can be visited. Learn more about what happened to those who fell victim during the Collectivization and the Great Purge.
