1973 Mach 1 Dzus Hood Lock Installation - How It Turned Out

In this video I hodged together a short video and added some photos, then provided a voice track to explain what the various images were meant to convey. For an excellent explanation of how to drill the holes in the hood properly please look at this video:

The mounting extensions you need are shown in my video beginning 00:46 - 00:56. To see what happens when the hood lock extensions under the hood, forward of the radiator support panel, are not used just look at my video beginning at 0:57 - 1:06. What a horrible fate for an otherwise great looking pony car, eh? Clearly the person who installed the Dzus hood locks on the yellow 1973 Mustang assumed they could use the radiator support panel, as we can and do in the 1965 - 1970 Mustangs, with their shorter hoods. Not so on the Big Nose Mustangs in 1971 - 1973 (or the 1969 - 1970 Shelbys with their longer hoods than standard 69-70 Mustangs).

Oh, did I hear someone say they wanted to see our 1973 Mach 1 after the restoration was complete? Okee Dokee, here is a link!
