ITC#72:- Colecovision - TMS-RGB Install (9-pin Mini Din)
In this video, I go through the steps I took to prepare and install a TMS-RGB video upgrade board into a Colecovision and using a Megadrive/Genesis 2 9-pin mini-din AV port to provide the RGB output along with pairing it with a separately installed composite video upgrade board as well. This allowed for minimal case modification required since I could route the RGB, audio, and the composite outputs from a single AV out port that is common and cables are plentiful for using with it. There is some SMD work involved to prepare the TMS-RGB board for use with this connector.
Note on the 75R resistors: I've spoken to several who did NOT remove the resistors and were still able to use Megadrive 2 cables without issue. However, while this does work, it isn't technically correct and will likely result in a slightly darker picture overall through RGB.
