Cairo DIY Food Tour | Americans Trying Egyptian Food 😀

We spent a month in the captivating country of Egypt and started things off in the bustling capital city of Cairo. Home to over 21 million people, this city has an infectious energy and is crazy and chaotic in all the best ways.

Egypt has so much to offer and there is obviously so much history here and sites to explore, but we spent our first full day in Cairo doing a bit of a DIY food tour. We tried some of the local favorites including Ful and Falafal, Shawarma, Koshary, and Konafa.

We actually ended up spending nearly a week eating our way through Cairo so this video by no means covers everything. Some of our other favorites were Molokhia, Kofta, Hawawshi, Baba Ganoush, Umm Ali, Basbousa and the list goes on.

We have fallen in love with this country and cannot wait to share our Egypt adventures. From the ancient Pyramids, the Western Desert, sailing the Nile on a Felucca to the fascinating history of Luxor and finally ending our time in the laid back diver's paradise of Dahab, if Egypt is not currently on your bucket list, we hope our upcoming videos might just change that. :)
