Dave Rubin: Wearing a Mask Is Basically Nazi Germany

Sam Seder talks about the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendation that states that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can go maskless in many indoor and outdoor situations — it literally states on their website that “you can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic” “without wearing a mask or physically distancing.” Then the website goes on to list a bunch of things don’t really line up with this advice, such as that you’ll still want to get tested if you’ve been around someone who’s been sick (you’re living your life, how would you know?), they’re not like, totally sure how effective vaccines are against variants (not sure at all!), you need to be careful in stores and at work (anywhere with people, really), and there are just a lot of caveats to this whole thing so it’s probably easier to just wear a mask, okay?
Sam points out that a lot of our society freaks out about anything that is a collective action, like mask-wearing.
Then Glenn Beck and Dave Rubin come into the picture. Glenn Beck says that not wearing a mask is like “wearing a yellow star.” Which … it’s not. The Nazis forced the Jewish people to wear yellow Stars of David so that they could be identified for persecution. They didn’t have a choice of whether or not they got to be a part of the group that was persecuted. Also, they were ultimately rounded up, put on trains, and murdered. But Dave Rubin and Glenn Beck think they are JUST as persecuted if someone “gives them the side-eye” because they don’t wear a mask.
Dave Rubin has a pretty quick change of heart, because a few days later he says that he’s making a commitment not to wear a mask when he goes out in L.A., even though he says he doesn’t really go out, but when he does he won’t wear a mask, UNLESS someone asks him to. That’s where he draws the line guys. He’s not trying to “start a riot.” (He won’t even debate Sam. No s*** he’s not trying to start a riot.)
